hi all, first post here but I am desperate for your input on a problem that I know is going to run and run if I don't seek some advice first...
Short story: I have a new crucial M500 SSD which I have installed windows onto using AHCI drivers (I think - see long story) on my motherboard disc (gigabyte x79-ud3) driver disc and I now have a 7 minute boot time and also one of my 5 other hard drives does not show in disk management, my computer, diskpart, anywhere other than the bios).
In my bios peripherals I am set to RAID mode (4 of my drives form 2x raid0 arrays) and if I change this to AHCI then I get the no boot device/os message.
Long story: I am moving from a crucial m4 256gb drive which took me literally months to get up and running. I had one drive replaced (I think that was resonsible for 95% of the issues I had) but even with the new one it took me a long time to get all of my drives showing.
My desired drive configuration and the one that I had set up fine with the 256gb drive (I still do if I switch the 480gb back to the old 256gb) is:
1) SSD for os
2) WD Velociraptor for my documents
3) 2x 1tb drives for RAID0
4) 2x 1tb drives for a second RAID0
In the past when I had everything up and running and I disconnected the WD velociraptor I got no boot device message which confused the hell out of me as my OS was definitely installed on the SSD, someho the bootflag was on drive 2.. I'm not sure, it's all a bit of a blur now.. I tried to put the whole affair out of my mind.
What I'm basically after is a couple of replies to show people are keen to help and I'll then start the fresh install procedure again (perhaps with all other drives removed, just to make sure the bootflag doesn't go to another drive again) and then start adding the other drives afterwards, do you guys think this will be a good way to go?
When I install the OS on the SSD now no drives are detected and I need to browse for drivers and go to my mobo driver disc where I get these options:

This is where I'm convinced it all goes wrong.. I THINK last time I chose iRst 32bit (it says 64 bit is not supported and to choose a 32 bit version although when I then select the 32 bit folder I then get the option of an x86 and x64 driver... really baffling)
In short... who can help... and which driver should I be selecting from the above list!
Thanks so much, I'll keep a keen eye on this thread! Please ask for any information that'd help.
