I need help to figure out the best micro atx setup for gaming. I want the fractal desighn core 1000 case with the r7 265 gpu but I dont know what cpu or mobo to use. I wana play games like titan fall bf4 skyrim with lots of mods on high or ultra on 1080p

Solution
AMD does not make any good microATX motherboards in the AM3+ platform. If you insist on going with AMD, this is your best bet.

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 760K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor ($84.73 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard ($64.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Patriot Viper 3 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($35.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.43 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 270X 2GB TurboDuo Video Card ($180.00 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design Core...
I think your sights might be set a little high, but "High" settings may be possible on that budget. You're not wasting a lot of money on a case, so that's good. I haven't seen reviews for Titanfall yet, but I believe the other two benefit from a strong CPU.
Do you have Windows, keyboard, mouse, and speakers? Monitor? What is its resolution? These could make a big difference.

This is the best you can do for under $500 with a 265 and FD 1000 case. If you needed windows and/or monitor too you can forget it.

Solution
CTurbo, switch that to a 2x RAM kit for dual channel mode, and you might have something a little better than even you were anticipating. Over in the "Best Gaming CPUs" thread, Damric has been presenting some pretty compelling evidence that a properly overclocked (INCLUDES chipset!) Athlon does not suffer in gaming from the lack of L3.
