No, you'll be fine. I wouldn't go any higher of a GPU than that, but that's a pretty good pairing.

What are you upgrading from?

While I agree with HiTechObsessed that the paring is pretty good - I wouldn't upgrade a (say) 5770 to the 250x... but it would be a great upgrade from a ~4570 or something.

There is nothing wrong with having an older CPU bottleneck a GPU, if you are planning to upgrade the graphics now and a new CPU/Mobo in x months - nothing says you can't go higher than a 250x now.

Definitely ditch the 7770. 7770 crossfire is nothing close to powerful enough to justify an i7. You really should b getting an i5 for gaming, not an i7 anyway.

Because it cost alot more than an i5 but performs no better in games. It is for rendering and encoding. Ani5 will perform the same and max all games easily.

My setup changes all the time (every week or so) and I bought pretty much all the parts at different times. I recently switched form an i5 and MSI motherboard back to this old Phenom and this new Gigabyte board in preparation for getting an fx8320 and doing some overclocking.
