Lackluster upload speed on PC

I have an internet plan of 105mbps down and 50 up. I have a laptop and newly built desktop so I decided to test my wireless connections on both.

These tests were performed from the same distance multiple times.

My laptop gets 28ms ping, 40mbps down, 24mbps up.
My PC gets 10ms ping, 70mbps down, and 5mbps up.

Why is my pc under performing in upload speeds? I feel like it should be in the 30's at least judging from the other benchmarks.

I'm worried my wireless card wasn't secured properly to the motherboard (Asus Maximus VI Formula) so it might be giving me issues. I couldn't secure it with the screws so it feels a bit loose. However, if that was the case shouldn't everything be under performing or not working? Any help with trouble shooting this would be greatly appreciated.

The card wouldn't under perform due to the card being somewhat loose in the case. Expansion cards either work or they dont. Are both your laptop and PC wireless adapters rated for the exact same speeds and have the same settings in windows? I'd guess that the orientation of your desktop card along with possible interference could be the issue. If you had time to, you could perform the speed test with both ~5 feet from the wifi router, making sure both have their wireless adapter antennae clear of obstruction to the router as a starting point to rule out external issues.

I will do Ethernet as last resort since the router is across the room from the actual PC. Ok so I did the test numerous times 5 feet away placing both the laptop and PC wireless antenna on the floor at same height of router.

These are averages.

Laptop 18ms ping, 37mpbs, down, 20mbps up.
PC 10ms ping, 68mbps down, 6mbps up.

As you can tell it hasn't changed much. My Pc wireless adapter is the Broadcom 802.11ac and I don't know how to find which one my MacBook pro has.

Looking up some more information for the PC implementation of the Broadcom 802.11ac. Your Mac, unless it is an older (core2 powered) model, actually uses the broadcom chips as well.

Any chance that when you start a file transfer over wireless that your PC starts out at a high upload speed and quickly drops?

One thing to check if you can access your wireless adapter settings on the PC is to check what channel(s) it is set to use and do the same on the laptop. If you can find that information in the device manager hardware properties for the adapter as well as the information on the mac adapter (I don't know exactly where to find that information on the mac os) you could try changing channel settings from auto to specific ones or vice versa.

When you connect to your wireless network, are there a bunch of other networks with decent signal strength that pop up? The channels could be interfering.
