I want to know if the Msi z97 motherboard is compatible with a GTX 770 DDR5 4Gb, and if not what's the difference between the 2GB and 4GB. I just want to run BF4 and such on ultra 1080p at 60fps. Does this motherboard support DDR5 ? And my proccessor is the icore 5-4670k haswell

All the z97 MB wiil be compatible the gtx770 either 2gb or 4gb and the haswell cpu too. Like popatim said the GDDR5 or DDR5 is for the GPU memory, as long as the GPU is the pcie x16, and the new MB has the pcie slot then they will compatible. One thing you are worry about that is the case or PSU, because you want to make sure the case has enough space for the GPU and the PSU has enough power to power the gtx770.

Check out the 19 Z97 MB reviews, pick one you like, and if you look for buy the new MB, you do the right thing becasue even z97 is almost same as z87, but it will provide some kind future-proofing but if you do upgrade from z87 to z97, then it...

Motherbd ram and GPU ram are two different things. The gpu will come with the ram that it supports and you only need to worry about whether its GDDR5 or DDR5, GDDR5 being better.

Since you did not supply a model # of the GPU or motherbd, we can't answer the "is it compatible" question but odds are that it does.
