Hey guys, i'm hoping someone can help me here, i have an AMD HD 7950 Graphics card, windows 7 64 bit and 8gigs of Ram, everything has been fine and dandy until just recently.

I have been playing games and noticing some slow down but its not the FPS, its kinda like the games wading through waist deep water lol.

anyway i decided i would check how my GPU was doing using CCC's overdrive tab to get a reading of the GPU clock, Memory clock and temperature and i discovered the clocks are maxing out, now im not sure if this is an issue with the GOU itself or if the games i'm playing are just not optimized correctly, however, i have never noticed this issue before on the same games, is there something i can do to check with the problem is with the GPU?

First I would try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers.

Sorry i did that (should have mentioned) i've played other games and checked the status of the card while playing and they all seem to be topping the GPU clocks out to max, cant understand why tho... :/

gpu clock speed should always be at max while gaming, what is the gpu and cpu usage when the slowdowns occur?. can you specify the games you are having trouble with, and how long ago the issue started exactly. Did the timing of the issue coincide with any other software/updates that were installed? A few things to check would be to start up fraps while gaming and actually check the fps, check temperatures of your cpu and gpu with hwmonitor.
