Voltage readings while overclocking

While overclocking I get different voltage readings from AI Suite 3 and cpu-z. Cpu-z shows voltage of 1.248 (set to 1.25 in bios) but AI suite shows 1.264, which is the correct voltage, and why the difference? I also just tried HWMonitor while writing this and it agrees with AI suite 3 at the 1.264 voltage, is cpu-z inaccurate?

My max voltage is set to 1.25 (adaptive) But im not running any AVX instructions that should push it above so I feel cpu-z is the one thats more correct, but since the other two confer which each other, I don't know which to accept.

Any thoughts?

BIOS is correct, that is core system feed, it is the most accurate and the one thing to always trust over other software.

How do you check the bios while you are stressing the cpu? You have to rely on software in such cases correct?

not always, software is good to see if an overclock has been successful (stress test), but BIOS is best to check PC settings, and is always the most accurate, software isn't.

You can;t check BIOS when you are stressing the CPU, as you have to open a window in startup to do that, so nothing else will be running.
