My son is going to start college next year and I want to buy him a laptop to take with him but have no idea where to start. He is going to a technical school and will be studying software engineering if that helps. He thinks he wants a Mac, but I hear that's better served for those doing arts and music. I have no idea. I was also told the software from a Mac might not be compatible--that yes, they have Windows for Mac now but it's not the same. I've had great luck with my HP laptop but have no idea what his needs will be. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
