4770k overclock for gaming?

Hello, I have been thinking of over clocking for awhile now I have a h100i cooler and was wondering if overclocking would help in gaming. I manly play Arma3 and dayz
I have an gigabyte GTX 760 4gb rev 2.1

Your performance wouldn't really improve. The i7-4770k is one of the fastest CPUs you can get; it absolutely blows away any game.

The GTX 760 is a good gaming card, but it's also considerably weaker than the 4770K, so the GTX 760 is almost certainly what's holding you back.

You'd only see marginal improvements by overclocking your CPU. If you want a a big improvement, upgrade GPUs. As for the marginally improved FPS, it all depends on how much that particular game utilizes the CPU, it may be more or less.

Right now I don't really see a big reason to Overclock the Haswell i7 4770k to just a few FPS more..at best. The i7 4770K is probably the fastest CPU on the consumer market and Most people that do overclock achieve an average of about 4.2 to 4.3Ghz...I would save that OC for a later time and keep the CPU as cool as it can get for now without breaking bank. After all Heat and Voltage is what kills processors...eventually.
