Is it okay to attach a USB drive for a long time? Is it good to leave it attached to the computer for months? Because I am using my USB drive as my file storage. I put all my files there. and I sometimes attach it into the same pc for like a week nonstop. Will it be damaged?

Um no... that's what they are meant to be used for. Some people run NAS with external drives on USB. Some attach them and leave them for years. Does your keyboard get damaged from being attached?

That being said you should NEVER trust any drive with your only copy of an important file. Any drive can fail.

USB 3 flash drives can be faster than mechanical hard drives. Thus many people use them as permanent storage. The Sandisk cruzer fit is a drive designed for that purpose.

Don't worry! I actually do it all the time.

However! Always, always, always keep a good backup of all your data. What me and my buddy do with our USB drives is to keep a backup stick in case one craps out, since the drives are dirt cheap to begin with. Even the most trusted WD hard drives and Plextor SSDs can and do fail

USB Flash drives? Slow SSD's with weak controllers. Some new Corsair and Sandisk drives have desktop class Nand and Controllers and can do half of USB 3.0 write speeds. Read is good too. Problem is they are not 3bit/cell , they die fast and don't have TRIM enabled. Means they get more writes then they need, and will die fast after so many Writes to the same cell.
