hi everyone i am having this problem but when i take out the gpu it works fine why is this here are some of my specs
Gigabyte gtx 770 4GB
psu supernova 850w g2

msi z87 gd65 gaming motherboard

Solution
Try using a 6+2 pin from one set of them then another 6pin from a different set (you can plug in a 6+2 as just a 6 and it works fine).

If that still doesn't work its very likely one of three things, in order of likelihood.

GPU
PSU
Mobo

I'd just RMA the GPU to be honest. Sadly we can't do much without tools/another pc and debugging has got us nowhere. It can very possibly still be the other options but since you have a working system without the GPU in there it would be best to RMA that first so you aren't stuck with no pc.

yes they are i have checked 3 times unplugging and replugging them back in but the weird thing is when i try to turn it on i hear a click that i think is coming from the psu but if i take the card completely out the system boots fine when it is i see the mobo power light on when itry to turn it on absolutely nothing happens

Is it possible that you can test the card on another system? It sounds like a fried card to me, the circuit pathway of the card is not going back to the PCIe socket. Test the card in another system and then come back here.

Interesting, hope you don't mind me butting in here. I would try a couple different PCI-E power cables since you have some spare ones handy. The mobo light should still come on as long as its plugged in and you hit the power button. Do any fans come on or any noises occur? Does the fan on the PSU come on?

unfortianly i can not test on another system but trying diferent cables might do the trick also i have to use 2 seperate cables because for some reason they have 2 6+2 pcie then there is 2 6+2+6 pcie cords and here is the configuration of the slots for the psu top row vga1 vga3
bottom row vga2 vga4
i am not sure if this would have anything to do with it but computers are weird like that
the mobo light is on when i plug the power in but when i press the power button litterly no fans no signs of life but when i take out the gpu it all comes to life when i push the power button i also was able to install windows 7 successfully without the gpu installed.i downloaded and installed the latest bios update and that did not help
