Ok, so i couldn't think of a correct title, here is whats wrong. I aint in the US, or anywhere, where companies provide customer service. ANyway, so I'm getting my first ever custom built PC, this weekend. I don't know how to exactly build a PC, and I don't really wanna screw up, so I've decided that when I go to purchase the parts, Im going to purchase them and ask the shopkeeper to build i for me, later I'll go and pick it up. (this is a quite common practice here).

So, everything is going great except that I don't think that I'll be getting the boxes of the parts Im getting installed. Now, my question is that what do these boxes contain other than the major component?

Example: The CPU, i5 3470, is gonna come with: CPU, Cooler, paste, that book and sticker. So other than the paste, I dont really want anything, right?

How ever Im not sure what other components carry, like the case would come with spare screws and standoffs? what about the mobo, it'll obviously have a bunch of spare cables and such.

The PSU is modular, so it'll have a lot of cables too, right?

So which ones of these, 'spare' parts should I ask to keep? Im gonna try to get every damn box too, but... yeah.

Solution
Although most of the parts will get used for the build common accessories included with primary parts include;
1) CPU, yes book and sticker but the thermal compound is pre-applied to the CPU cooler so unless an aftermarket cooler is used, there will be no "extra" thermal compound
2) Motherboard, normally the motherboard comes with 2-6 SATA cables, a driver CD, manual (sometimes a sticker also) and (if applicable) SLI bridge(s)
3) Ram, that might come with a sticker also
4) PSU, because it is modular, you'll want any "extra" (unused) cables, and manual (usually PSU manuals are near worthless but it may contain warranty information). Some of the fancier PSU's even come with bags for the extra cables (I'll suggest researching what your...

5) Case, most of the screws that come with the case (along with the motherboard speaker) will be used during the build but there may be left overs - you can also ask for any PCI slot covers that are removed during the build along with front panel covers (bay covers)
I can't think of any other "extras" but I'll add them if I think of them
