The timings are different, CL9, CL7, CL8 etc... lower the better.

TBH, you are probablly better off with a 1600Mhz or 1866.The RAM speed will give better performance vs. lower timings.

Alec Mowat is right. The lower the CL, the better.

1333mhz is acceptable, but if there's not a big price difference you'd be better off with 1600mhz. Higher than 1600mhz and imo there's probably not enough of a benefit to justify the extra time and testing required to make 1866+ work on most boards.

Look for 1600/8 or 9 or 1866/9 with your combo, I'd go the Ripjaws X or GSkills Snipers - both are great sets for AMD rigs

Also, consider 8GB so you don't have to worry about upgrading in the future. Many programs hog a lot of RAM so you want to make sure you always have enough.
