Hey,

I was searching for a board that can play GTA 4 without any problems.(Mid-end settings)with a little lag/no lag.

Heres my current config:

AMD Phenom x4 965 black edition
2 x 2GB RAM(Kingston and Dynet)
550W PSU(Willing to buy 650)

I don't have a GPU.(Because, I mostly play games like GTA San Andreas, and maybe some old games.) So, yeah, is it possible to get a mother board that costs no more than 150$?

Just a decent one, I don't play games at max settings, I play mostly on mid/low end settings.

Help me get a better board.

Thank you :)

get a graphics card not a motherboard. motherboards dont make fps graphics cards do. the motherboard is like a nervous system it makes things run. the thing that makes the computer better is the cpu and gpu, and ram.

The board that I use now is Asus M4N68T M Le V2. As I have mentioned earlier, I am not a hardcore gamer. I just wanted to make sure that the board I buy comes out with integrated graphics, with which I would like to play GTA 4 in low end/mid end settings.

The motherboard really hardly matters at all for performance; more expensive motherboards have surge protection, more energy efficiency, higher overclocks, better cooling, etc. They typically do not improve game performance. Furthermore, buying a new motherboard for your Phenom II 965 would be a mistake, as it's far from a new CPU. Still not a terrible CPU, but certainly not good enough to justify buying a new motherboard for it.

If you actually want to get medium-ish settings in GTA IV, you will absolutely need a video card. Even just a $60 video card would be a substantial upgrade.

Sounds like a good reason to get an R7 240, if you can afford it. The R7 240 would be much faster than your old card and they cost $70. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FW5B3ZO/?tag=pcpapi-20

Or you could get a GT 620. A GT 620 would be a bit faster than your old 5450, and it costs $50.

Generally that'd cost less, and perform better, than getting a new motherboard would.

If you were spending $120, still $30 less than your max for a motherboard, that'd put you in range of a GTX 750, which would be way faster than your old card. More suitable for high settings than medium.

AFAIK, my board will die soon, my screen is shaking already. I don't have other option but to buy a new board, and maybe a card. I actually play a multi-player game which is the mod of San Andreas. I just want a board which draws full fps in San Andreas @ High end settings :D

Uh, I have to buy a mother board sooner, and I don't have enough money to buy both board and the card. So, all I need is a board for now, I'll come back here if I am about to choose a card. Can yo' people suggest me a board for now, please? :)

Well, boards only have to cost $60-$80 if you don't overclock.

This combination would be good, for your -$150 limit. Comes out to $130 total, it's a reasonable motherboard and the R7 240 is pretty weak, but still faster than the HD 5450. If you really don't want a video card, then I would still recommend the same board since it's a pretty nice upgrade over your old one for a low price.

If you really want a new motherboard, then get one that'll let you OC your CPU to the best it can be, I suggest a 990FX motherboard.

If you want a great motherboard, great OC and great looks, get this;
