Dear Expert,

greeting in advance.

I want to extend my network by another switch. below my current configuration for your review and solution.

All access done by core switch.

Switch1>>Core switch : 192.168.1.254 (core switch)

Switch 2>> subnet 1 : 192.168.2.254 (connected to core switch)

Switch 3>>subnet 2: 192.168.3.254 (connected to core switch)

Switch 4>>subnet 4>> 192.168.4.254 (connected to core switch)
>>>>>>>>>>>> here I want to add another switch and should be access from core switch

now for the switch 4 , all 22 port used. But I need to add more 8 connection into same switch4. because this switch 4 connected by fiber connection to core switch 1.

How can I add this more connection to Switch 4>>subnet 4>> 192.168.4.254 ?

once again many thanks , and look forward for your expert solution.

regards.

Solution
Regular "Switch" does not know about IP addresses and networks (unless it is something fancy), but routers do. So you can use any basic switch, plug it somewhere on other switches, and extend your network.
unplug one of the devices from switch 4 and plug your new switch into switch 4 on that port. You should be able to plug the device you removed into the new switch and it will work pretty much the same as when you had it plugged directly into switch 4. To get 8 extra ports you will need to buy something like a 12 or 16 port switch to make up for the ports you use to connect the switches.

A very simple layer 2 switch is all you need.

Why do you need the new switch to be layer 3? As long as you have one layer 3 switch or router in your setup you should be fine. I assume your "core switch" is a layer 3 switch? The new switch you want to put in does not even have to be a layer 2 managed switch (according to your description of your network). It can just be a simple unmanaged switch.
