why is the picture on my television cut off

My new samsung 46 inch LCD TV that I have connected to Comcast cable box is cutting off the top and bottom of screen on most channels. The picture size options only give me 16.9, 4.3' zoom1, zoom2 none of those fix the problem, all other settings are grayed out. Any ideas on what the problem is and how I may be able to fix it? Thanks

see if using the 'format' button (or similar) on the Comcast remote fixes it. That worked for a lot of people with your issue.
The Comast remote can separately adjust the screen format and put you into a zoom mode.

Thanks but I don't have a format button or at least I don't see anything that looks like one. I think I pushed every button on the remote with NO success

I see an HD Zoom button on some models but I'm sure you pushed that a few times if you have it. The next idea would be to find a format setting under menu or settings.
