I have a Western Digital internal HDD that I want to use as a second boot drive, as my current one is only 250GB.
So the problem is that whenever I try to partition and format the WD through disk management, it comes up saying that the format didn't complete and asks me to format again. I've checked the partition type and it's saying it is RAW but healthy. I've checked everywhere and from what I gather it means it's corrupted. Is there any way to fix this issue?

There is currently nothing on the WD so I'm not worried about saving data. I'm happy to continue using my current HDD as long as I can install new games and play them off my WD.

I'm a bit of a noob but I can follow directions and step by step very easily so being as detailed in your responses as possible will help.

It was brand new. The first time I tried to partition and format it, it stopped midway for several hours. I canceled and tried again. Since then I have had this issue

Formatting a brand new drive should only take a few seconds (if you use quick format and NTFS as the file system). It shouldn't take hours!

First thing to try- connect the drive to a different SATA port inside your machine. Sometimes a dodgy connections can cause problems like this.
