On my Windows 8 laptop, Windows Installer has stopped working, without warning. When installing programs that do not need it, everything goes well, but when I try to open a setup that uses Windows Installer, nothing happens. Not even an error message.

Solution
Your computer create a Restore point every once and a while.
It basically saves all the configurations and data that was on windows before.
So you can change your current configuration to that restore point.
Resulting in you hopefully having a windows installer that works.
More information here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc
At the bottom select the blue text that says "Restoring your PC to an earlier point in time"
And follow the instructions.
Hope this helps!

Hi there,
If the windows installer was working previously try rolling back the computer.
This will only delete a few drivers and reset some programs and no personal files will be touched.
Hope this helps!
