Unable to install windows 7 64-bit on HP Pavilion DV4 2160us.

Hey guys I'm trying to install windows 7 pro 64-bit on my HP Pavilion dv4 2160us but the bootdisk is stuck at the windows startup screen and then shuts off the PC, I checked the processor(i5 M430) and it has 64-bit support and the 32-bit windows 7 pro installs perfectly. How can i install 64bit on this machine?? :??:

Are you trying to do a upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit?
If so, it will not work. You will need to do a clean install, booting from a 64 bit dvd.

@geofelt i am doing a clean install and after windows is done loading the files at the startp screen before setup it sticks and shuts off
