Is this Delidding tutorial any good?

Hey there

Today I am going to delid my Intel i7 4770K and I was wondering to follow this tutorial but I wanted your opinion on whether its good or not, here is the tutorial, now the problem I have is at 4:44 and at 7:25 , I have never seen anyone do this before, do you think it's safe to do that? thanks

Well it's always a risk especially if you aren't careful. Also it will void any warrenty you have on the CPU. The most important thing is to not dig in to far as you could scratch or break off part of the center chip and to be carefull not to scratch the CPU PCB.

I would recommend using CL Ultra under the IHS, over the pro because its a better formulation and its around the same price. Plus its mad easy to clean if you make a mistake. I'd also advise against the razor method (strongly!) and even against the wooden block method. Instead I found that using the vise to shear the pcb and IHS so theres no chance of the pcb flying across the room. delidding is actually really easy and safe if done properly.
