I have a Asus 1156 P7P55d LE motherboard and i just went to swap the old samsung 2gb ram for 2x4gb of corsair vengeance pro ram, i installed it but then there was a ticking that almost sounded like a wire hitting a fan but there wasn't. The computer booted but only to the Asus logo screen no further and on the 2nd time trying to boot it cut all power. I reseated the old samsung 2gb stick and it has gone away again? and now it boots fine. I'm a little uneasy to keep trying because this happened to me before and it shorted my memory and motherboard does anyone know what is wrong?

My system:

Corsair CX 430w PSU
P7P55D LE motherboard
i5 650
WD caviar Green
Asus GT640 GPU
T-link wireless card
CM 212 evo cooler

this motherboard was bought 2nd hand so i have no manual but i checked online and it says the 2 sticks of ram should be seated in A1 & B1 which i did the current 2gb samsung stick is seated in A1
