Maximus VII Gene (micro ATX)
Maximus VII Hero (ATX)
Maximus VII Ranger (ATX)
We’ll cover the new Maximus VII range in more detail soon, but suffice to say we have more announcements at Computex in early June!"

EDIT: the forumla hasn't been released yet

wtf? no. the ranger is the budget version of the rog boards. the formula is second only to extreme and all formulas have enhanced cooling and no doubt will continue to have armor.
the ranger does not replace the formula.
you'll most likely see the high end formula and extreme z97s next month. (i want a z97 formula myself. im hoping for dust defender guards like the sabertooth has)

Oh, well, hopefully there will be a formula MoBo. Because I am planning to get a Broadwell CPU with nh-d15.

yeah im looking forward to the noctua 3000 rpm pwm industrialppc fans. its quite possibly perfection in air pushiness.

Wait what?

Will Noctua make 3000 rpm fans?

probably not perfectly because the D-15 uses a round nf-a15 for the sandwiched fan which clears the cpu mounting hardware while the 140mm industrialppcs are all based on the nf-a14 and are square. you could probably rig it somehow.. but it wouldn't be 'as intended'

With Z97 gaining popularity due to its forwards compatibility with upcoming Broadwell and Devil’s Canyon Processors alongside a robust feature set, Computex represents the perfect launching ground for a new crop of motherboards. ASUS ‘ Republic of Gamers series is getting special attention this time around.

Maximus VII Formula

ASUS ROG Maximus VII Formula Gaming Motherboard

The flagship board of ASUS’ Z97 lineup will be the Maximus VII Formula, a product that borrows several elements from previous designs and melds them into one high end offering. It has a full copper core design for air and water cooling, a brand new SupremeFX setup that features a 120dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and a new exclusive technology called Sonic SenseAmp which automatically detects headphone impedance and adjusts output accordingly.

Connectivity is handled by and mPCIe Combo III + 802.11ac / Bluetooth 4.0, which is a compact connectivity module that delivers the latest wireless technologies along with mini PCI Express (mPCIe) and an M.2 (10Gbit/s PCIe x2 and 6Gb/s SATA) slot. As with many other high end ROG boards the Maximus includes ASUS’ KeyBot, Thermal Armor and FanExpert 3.

1. It's been reported that the CrossChill block is now copper, should make peeps comfy who were unnecessarily worried about the anodized aluminum.

2. Hopefully the new design will allow you to change the CMOS battery without a complete disassembly of your build and removal of thermal armor and backplate.

3. I hope the Z97s are not affected by the Frozen BIOS Clock bug affecting Asus Z87 boards.
