On Newegg, a Mother's Day sale featured the R9 290x for $495!!! I was dead set on ordering the GTX 780, but from what I've heard, the 290x is essentially on the same tier as the 780TI (slightly less performance, but much cheaper).
This is my first PC build. I've had two PCs in the past, but the first was an Alienware with a GTX 670, and the second was a new custom PC pre-assembled on Ebay with a 7990. The 7990 build gave me dreadful FPS, hence why I am hesitant about another AMD purchase. The 7990 was an unpopular card, anyway, so I'm willing to give AMD another chance. I want to know what you guys think about following through or canceling my order
My build:
CPU:i5-4670k
Cooler: NH-D14
Mobo: ASUS Maximus Hero
PSU: HX-750 (Sale at $89.99 )
Case: Phantom 410
Memory: G-Skillz Ripjaw X 8GB
Storage: 1 TB Western Digital Caviar Blue
