First off, thank you to anyone who could give me proper advise in my situation.

So what I'm looking to do is move my OS from my SSD back to the HDD so I can remove the SSD. Feel like it should be as straight forward as doing the opposite, but I'm being precautions before I take any steps forward.

Again thanks in advance, as I know most people don't typically due a downgrade like this :p

Assuming you have valid install media....take the SSD out, and install on the HDD.
Change around boot priorities as needed.

I would normally copy any files from the ssd that I want. Copy the os, users and the program files onto the main directory of the hdd and use it to boot.

by doing so you will need to install the OS to the HDD by disk. You can make backups of the info on HDD first for best results and format the drive. If your info is already partitioned use an empty partition to install the OS to.

All programs will need to be reinstalled because they need to have the proper registry entry's to work correctly.

if you purchased your SSD, you probably got cloning software to move the hdd to the ssd in the frist place. If not, look at freeware like clonezilla. Unless you have some specific reason to reinstall the OS, don't bother doing it. Note that you will lose whatever was on the hdd when cloning the ssd to the hdd.

Is there a way to not have to reinstall the OS? Trying to make this a quick job at work.
