im getting low fps in spider-man 2

what could be the problem of me getting low fps in spider-man could it be my cpu is dieing? or my power supply? what is most likely the culprit?

fx 8350
gtx 770
cx600
asrock 970 extreme 3 revision 2.0
latest bios also
8 gigs of ram
also temps are pretty much normal

how could i check if my cpu is working properly?

The power supply is unlikely to be the cause unless you crash and it probably isn't your CPU dying either. Try running an anti-virus and anti-rootkit scan and checking for background process that are running though resource manager in windows .

Is your CPU overlcocked at all? Your motherboard is (sorry) terrible for overclocking and it doesn't even officially support your CPU due to power and temperature issues.

If you're not overclocked at all, try going into the BIOS and dialing the multiplier back a couple notches to 3.8GHz and see if that fixes your problem.

EDIT: My bad, the revision 2.0 does support the 8350, but I still think if it's OC'd at all you should return it to stock and if it's not OC'd dial it down to 3.8GHz and try again to see if it helps.

Did you try checking for background processes running while you are playing that game?

Here's what you should try, humor me and go into your BIOS and drop your multiplier so your CPU is running at 3.6GHz (just for the time being) and then try Spider Man 2 again.
