Windows won't boot up anymore; when I try to, it proceeds as far as the screen with the pulsing windows logo - and if I leave it at that for 5-10 minutes, it switches to a bluescreen (for a fraction of a second, can't really see what it says) before going to the "start windows start helper" menu.
However, it's the same with the start helper, and also with safe mode.
Oh, yeah...prior to this I was browsing the internet and it kept freezing for a couple of seconds. My notebook not being the youngest any more, I thought I might just restart the thing...which is when the whole BS began.
(Lastly, I do not have a Windows DvD, since my notebook didn't ship out with one. Any suggestions w/o? I would be absolutely willing to just wipe the whole harddrive and reinstall, but I would like to recover my most important data first...)
