I dont really know too much to begin with but i have done my own research and i would like a nice monitor to take advantage of my graphics card (gtx 780). I would like 3d support with a nice quality company (not a cheap knockoff brand) and am willing to spend around 500ish. also i want to have around 27" screen size with a good refresh rate and resolution and all that fancy stuff. If anyone out there knows his or her thing around monitors right now i would greatly appreciate some feedback. Cheers!

There is a monitor that has every single thing you want, it's called the ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q. It's 1440p, 144hz refresh rate, supports Nvidia 3D vision, 1ms response time, and above all, is G-Sync Compatible.

This monitor would be a perfect fit for you, except one thing. It is expected to cost $800, over your $500 budget. It also might not come out for another month or two.

However, if you wish to stick to your $500 budget, like Nightman mentioned, you can't have 1440p and 3D. Currently there is no monitor that supports both...

At 27" I'd go with 1440p, but unfortunately you sacrifice the 3d if you do that. I would not recommend 1080p on such a big monitor, because the image won't be as sharp. I'd say your best options then would either be a 27" 1440p monitor like the ASUS PB278Q, which is currently under $500 on amazon, or you could get a 24" 1080p monitor with 3d. Something like the ASUS VG248QE would be a good choice then, and it is specifically geared towards gaming, so it has a fast response time and high refresh rate.

Hello will.

I updated your pcpartpicker list with the monitor here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3K7gF

It's resolution is 2560x1440 which is quite good for me 'cause I had this before I had to sell it. Response time is 5ms and refresh rate of 60hz. It's 27" like you said and Asus is a trusted brand. With your graphics card you could run games to full resolution. It has free shipping and costs 482.99 at NCIX US. This is only a suggestion though. You make the final choice.

You also must choose between 1440p and higher refresh rates(can be dealt with by overclocking monitor, I don't take this into consideration considering you aren't guaranteed anything).

My recommendation? Since the monitor I linked isn't out yet, use a TV for now or something and save up a bit more for the monitor and get it when it comes out.

Otherwise, if you don't wish to spend that much, the monitor recommended by Nightman and Intel Celeron is a great monitor and will be good, just no 3D, no G-Sync, and no high refresh rate.
