Hello,

I recently built a PC with the intentions to buy a gtx 760 when I get enough money (right now I'm relying on Intel graphics :() . I thought it would instead be a good idea to buy a cheaper graphics card periodically (like the radeon 7770). I dont understand why people buy 1500 dollar graphics cards when, in a few months its going to cost $300$? Anyways my question is, when are the best sales for gpu's? And what GPU should I get?

Hello,

What will you be doing with your computer? Gaming, 3d modelling, word processing? For some mild gaming on medium-high quality settings, the Radeon r7 260/260x (http://dft.ba/-r7260x) will do great if paired with say an Ivy Bridge i5-3xxx/i7-3xxx. For 3D modelling and more professional applications, consider a workstation card, or the gtx 760 for just AutoCAD and simple stuff. For Word and internet browsing, your Intel GPU will be fine. No need to spend the extra money if you can help it. I personally use the AMD FX6300 (essentially a i5-3xxxk) and the MSI Radeon r9 270, which plays pretty much every game at ULTRA settings with 8x AA.

As for times to buy, of course there Boxing day, Black friday, Cyber monday, and February and...

depends on youre budget if you want nvidia get the 660ti or 750ti the 760 is also a good choice you'll be able to play maximum games at 60 fps at ultra
and if you get a 760 you get watchdogs for free and I personally prefer nvidia because of physx but amd is a good choice too..if you want solid performance the min you should get is a 260x or 265 or a 270x for good performance
and the $1000 are actually still the same price cards like the gtx 690 and titan it's becuase they can give 50+ in resolutions higher than 1080p but for 1090p or lower you dont need anything higher than a gtx 760 or 770

so it all comes down to budget with $200 or lower you'll get solid 30fps+ which means no lag at all

The 750/750 ti will struggle to run games maxxed out, but is still a decent enough, but for ~$180, the r9 270 on sale is better than the gtx 750ti
