Hi guys. I'm planning to build my first low-mid-budget gaming rig at about $800-$850. I want to decide on my CPU+GPU+Mobo first before getting the rest of the parts. Here they are:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 760K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor ($84.73 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A88X Extreme6+ ATX FM2+ Motherboard ($89.79 @ Newegg)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 270X 2GB TurboDuo Video Card ($180.00 @ Newegg)

My reasoning behind these is that since I'm going to use it mostly for gaming, I'll spend less on the CPU & Mobo (but don't make them so crappy that my comp performs badly), and more on the GPU. It won't hurt for me to overclock in the future, but at the same time, I don't really care for it. Thanks for your time.

Much better value for the money. This motherboard is also a good overclocker. If gaming is your priority, you might not need the extra features the A88 chipset offer.

Hey, thanks for the answer. I actually found the XFX R9 270X just recently too lol. For the mobo, though, what will the micro ATX form factor do compare to the ATX? That's the main difference that I have noticed, plus the fact that the ASRockA88X has about 2 times the number of expansion slots as the ASRockA75M does. I do know that micro ATX is smaller in size, but will the performance be affected at all? Do I need 7 expansion slots, or just 4?

The PowerColor Radeon R9 270X actually has better core clock (1030 MHz compared to 1000) and boost clock (1080 MHz to 1050). The only advantages the XFX has are that it has 4.3 OpenGL compared to 4.2, and that it has 1 more display port. They are both about the same price, with the XFX about $2 more expensive.
