Is there any sort of performance reliability difference that i should be concerned about when dealing with dual/quad channel memory? i have a quad-channel motherboard (asus rampage iv black edition -http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/RAMPAGE_IV_BLACK_EDITION/) and i have corsair dominator platinum (2x8GB 2400MHz -http://www.corsair.com/en-us/dominator-platinum-with-corsair-link-connector-1-65v-16-gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmd16gx3m2a2400c10) which is rated for dual-channel configuration.. So I reiterate, is there a deficiency that I should be concerned about, or any in general?

You shouldn't have any problem, basically DRAM is DRAM and as long as it meets the mobos base specs and the CPU can handle it...it should work....with your mobo there is little to no DDR3 that won't work between 1066-2133 (I would stay away from cheap and no-name brands ;) )
