So I built a budget gaming pc with a 430 watt power supply 80+ gold corsair. So I paired this with the rest of my build which is a Fx 8320, GTX 760, 8gb ram, etc. All together in Pcpartpicker it showed a estimated usage of 390w. Now that seems a bit far fetched but once I put everything together it worked just fine.
Now my question is should I upgrade to a 500-600 watt PSU? Would that maybe increase my performance because apparently Nvidia recommends atleast a 500w to be paired with the 760? So would I be fine leaving it as is, or buying the 500w.

Solution
nvidia has to recommend a higher power to take into account poor quality PSU's that cant meet their spec or or list their momentary peak power as their spec. A decent 450w power supply will run almost any single gpu made.

That being said, unless you plan to overclock (gpu, cpu, or both) a new PSU will have no affect on performance.
