I have decided to build my first computer ever and I have decided to go big; my budget is around $3000. I'm willing to go up to $3300. I'm currently a high school student studying engineering and I want to build an over the top computer in order to have a good desktop for college and even to use after college just replace some components in the future; without having build another computer from scratch. I'm aware that "future-proofing" is impossible. I was want to build a something that will be able to get the job done. If anyone is aware of the Mastercam and Solidworks - those are the types of programs I used. Additionally, I want a computer that can run graphically intensive games (like Battlefield 4) at ultra or high settings on, with 120+ fps. I know I'm kind of crazy, but I've done a lot of research and I have decided to go over the top with a computer; in my opinion it is a good investment. I'm open to any opinions or suggestions.

P.S.: (1) I will probably change my motherboard to a Z97. I will still like suggestions. (2) If any of you guys think I should change my mouse or my keyboard, please be aware that I would prefer to have a mouse and a keyboard that both come from the same brand. (3) I also want to keep a black and red theme.

Thank you for your time and advise...

CPU - Good choice for your usages.

Cooler - You college roommate will throw a brick at it if it has a 100i in there.... who wants to hear vacuum cleaner running all day .... give a listen here:

http://martinsliquidlab.org/2013/03/12/swiftech-h220-vs...

In order or thermal performance the big 3 air coolers are the Phanteks PH-TC14-PE, Thermalright Silver Arrow and Noctua DH-14. If you must have an AIO grab the H110 which runs at only 1500 rpm compared to the H100i's 2600 ....but the H110 is $115 compared to the $75 Phanteks and the Phanteks cools about 0.5 to 1.0 C better

RAM - The Mushkin DDR3-2440 CAS 10 (Hynix Modules) is a steal at $190 ....they sell out in days tho so grab them while ya can. The Gskill Ares don't use Hynix AFAIK but to get close to the Mushkin 2400s speed at 2133, you'd need CAS 9 and the GSkill 2133 CAS 9s are also $190

If ya getting 2133 CAS 11, ya might as well get the 1600 CAS 8 and the latter is faster. (Memory speed in nanoseconds = CAS x 1000 / DDR speed)

The EVGA is the last 780 Ti Id consider.... read the reviews as to why but the SC series finishes last in most reviews. The MSI is the one to get ... fastest and by far the quietest. Only ne card has ever gotten a better score and that was the Asus 670 TOP (10.0)

9.9 MSI http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_780_Ti_Gamin...
9.5 EVGA http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/GTX_780_Ti_SC_A...

PSU - The HX850 form Corsair is a much better PSU and is plenty large enough..... I pull mid 700s with twin 780s w/ 25% OC.

Case - I don't see the Storm Trooper as a case for as $3k build.....if ya thinking of water cooling in future, I'd grab the Enthoo Primo at $229 but the Enthoo Luxe might be a better fit for a dorm room and suitable for air or water cooling, Plus ya get the superb phanteks fans, a built in fan control PCB and switchable LED lighting

MoBo - I don't get that EVGA MoBo..... what's the point of having 4 PCI-E-3 slots if ya try and run more than 2, they don't run at x 8 ? SLI wants x8 x8
newegg says these are ya options .... 1x16 / 2x8 / 1x8+2x4 / 1x8+4+4+1 .....

Despite having 6 Asus builds in the house here I have to say the $180 MSI Z97 GD65 is "the bomb". Combines the MIL spec componentry of the $250 Sabertooth with the gaming prowess of the Asus RoG series .... (and the GD65 is $50 cheaper than the Asus Hero)

As to the theme....the MSI MoBo, GFX card and Mushkin memory all have the same color red / black combo. The Asus GX 950 is a nice red black mouse but that's the only component vendor mouse I ever found worth a damn.

Most of the gamers I have built for have chosen the G19s has programmable colors and an LCD panel which displays game specific info or CPU temps, GPU temps, voltages whatever....
