A 750Ti would be a good option for you, theyre right at the $150 price point, and can deliver reasonable performance at 1080p in most games.

Heres a Gigabyte GTX 750Ti: Link

In that price range you are looking at Radeon R7 260x or a R7 265. According to the Best GPU for the money chart, the 265 is around $160, but worth it if you can go the extra. I suggest shopping around, Newegg, Amazon, etc.

Go with the best price, but my experience has been that Sapphire, ASUS and XFX tend to have the best build quality.

That being said, you should confirm that your PSU has the proper connections for the GPU. If not, I'd suggest getting a better PSU or getting the 750ti, as it is easy on low end PSU's.

Ur psu is very very bad quality so dont put r7 265 in ur system, if u dont want to change ur psu then get 750ti as it is a very low power consuming card(only consumes 60w under load)

I think i can go with the r7 265 but which vendor? There are so many like msi, zotac, sapphire, etc.
Also as i have 1280x1024 resolution monitor do I need a 2gb gpu or is a 1gb enough?

At 1280x1024 1gb vram is enough. If u have any plan of upgrading to 1080p then get 2gb version.
