i want to build a home server. but i need to know whats the best hardware set up. i want to make it as fututre proof as possiable. i will be using amahi for the os. also would i need to install a graphics card. i will be streaming large media files through out my home network. (movies to my tv). also in the future i would like to transfer over to sdd (only when the price goes down and the capacity goes up). but i wouldnt like to change any of the hardware already installed just the hdd to ssd.

i wasnt expecting someone to suggest server grade hardware. i was thinking somewhere along the line of 4770. now i just dont know. would using server grade hardware actually be a good thing. also would i still be able to install amahi os using this type of hardware. can you explain the benifits of haveing a video card on a home server system, all the other builds i have seen their wasnt any video card.
also i dont want any liquid cooling. would a good aftermarket heatsink/fan system be just as good.

Well, an i7 isn't designed for 24/7 usage but a Xeon is, and I only put the graphics card in there as you said you wanted one. No watercooling? Get a Noctua NH-U12P SE2 Dual Fan cooler
