I have been playing my ps3 just fine on my Acer a221hov monitor for a few weeks now using an hdmi-dvi adapter. Anytime I wanted to play i would press the button on the lower right corner of my monitor to switch the input and it would work fine.
Now for some reason when i turn on the ps3 and press the input button it shows a black screen with "DVI" on the top right for half a second, stays on black screen for 3-4 seconds and then takes me back to my desktop screen. Ive tried holding the ps3 until i hear 2 beeps, restarted the computer, unplugged the monitor and held the on button for 30 seconds to get rid of static but nothing happens. It just flashes DVI then goes back to my desktop screen. I even uninstalled and installed the display adapter.
I can hear the sound of the ps3 just fine when it turns on.
