As stated in the subject, I am looking for a 24" ips monitor to be used for gaming with low latency that has support for display port. I really would like display port vs hdmi as a base for the inevitable future upgrades. I would like it to be under $300. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am a new pc gamer but I tend to do a lot of research before I buy anything, but I cannot seem to find much out there. Thanks for the help guys . . . .

Have you used this monitor? I am kinda weary to just look at something online without real hands on experience or a few good testimonials

What would you recommend if not ips, TN I'm assuming? I have i7 4770k and GeForce gtx780 gpu. I want a good monitor to play games maxed out on and not see lag but still have great clarity and no blocky color fading

I read all the time and listen to reviews bashing tn monitors for the blocky color and the lack of color fading . . . I just want a good clear picture and don't want the monitor to slow down the GeForce gtx780 display

Thank you all for the fast responses. Right now I am tied between 2 monitors for various reasons.

Acer h236hl because it is a decent zero frame monitor capable of a good looking triple monitor setup possibly in the future, and the price is not bad at around $150

Asus vg248qe because it is 2ms response time 144hz and display port which will handle the 60fps without a problem and possible sli in the future when games get more demanding. Price is at about my limit, just under $300

Any ideas, not sure if going triple monitor is a real benefit to gaming vs one great monitor. Either way would be a huge improvement over my 8 year old hp monitor

I think having a single 144hz monitor is better than having a triple monitor setup. I use a 120hz monitor, but I've never used a triple monitor setup so I may be wrong here, but from what I've heard and understand you will mostly be looking at the center monitor, so the side ones are really just taking away performance and not serving a real purpose. I always though triple monitor was more for multitasking and working on a lot of spreadsheets or coding or work like that.

With a single 144hz monitor, you will always notice the fast frame rate and low response time, especially with a GTX 780 and a possible SLI setup in the future. That's what I would do.

EDIT - Off topic here, but I have a question for you i7Baby. You have a Gaming and CPU badge next to your name. I've earned a graphics card expert badge and it's displayed under my avatar for me, but how do I get badges to display next to my name?
