DVD drive not detected

i have a LG dvd drive GH22NS50...my drive is powered and and is detected by device manager telling that it works properly,but it doesnt shows in the bios and thus doesnt detect any dvd's..plz help..
My system specs:
Intel pentium dual cpu(2 cpu) E 2160 1.8ghz
1 gb ram,directx 11
windows ultimate (32 bit)

Does it work? If it's detected by Device Manager it should be detected by bios otherwise it wouldn't be detected by device manager.
Buy another one - $20

it doesnt read any disc but shows to be working properly

If its working but not doing the job, then replace it - $20!

Take it out, make sure it is not dusty, clean the connections, and then reseat it.
