I am trying to decide between these two Gigabyte mobos for my next build: GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-Gaming and GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD3H.

I only want to do mild overclocking, games and video processing. I called Gigabyte to try to find the differences between the 2 boards but I got a person whose first lanuage was not English and I couldn't understand them. I will be using the Intel 4770K and I want the Z97 chipset. Other than that, I am not sure. Ideas?

Okay, from what I can gather, the Gaming board will be better.
Both boards are quite remarkably similar, however the gaming has support for higher memory frequencies, better onboard audio and a gaming designed LAN implementation that should have packet prioritisation.
The only inherent benefit I can see the UD3H having is the Ultra Durable branding and some very specific features for server/workstation implementations.

TL;DR
Get the Gaming board.

EDIT: Why not get a i7 from the Haswell refresh? The K processors haven't been released yet, but you sound like you'd really benefit from waiting for Devils Canyon processors (better OC'ing).

Hmmm, I am finding out that picking an Intel chip is harder than ever. When I built my last system 4.5 years ago I went with the Intel i7 965. It was easy back then to pick. I haven't paid any attention since then (till now) regarding Intel offerings. So I still need to do some research. And I am sure picking an Intel chip has been discussed here a million times so I'll do some more research. Thanks.
