Will switching RAM affect my overclock?

Specs:
FX-8350
ASUS M5A99FX
4x2GB 1333 DDR3

So currently I have 4 sticks of 2GB Crucial RAM at 1333Mhz.

I just bought 2 sticks of 4GB Corsair Vengence at 1600Mhz, because I've read that a 2 DIMM config is easier on the system than a 4 DIMM config.

I'm overclocked right now at 4.6Ghz stable on my CPU using the multiplier only, so I was wondering what I'll need to look out for when I swap the RAM out. I plan to install the new RAM, hit the MemOK! button, then load into bios and ensure my RAM is now stating 1600Mhz instead of 1333 and all my other OC settings are the same.

Solution
that's bad advice. the new ram won't run the same as the old ram and the old over clock will probably have an effect on the system...... an unstable effect. you should start over.

don't reset the CMOS, you'll lose your overclocks (assuming you did it in bios)

I hate to give you the bad news, but you just wasted your money. You'll see no real world difference between 4x2 1333 and 2x4 1600.

It is easier on the memory controller to handle 2 instead of 4 sticks if you're running high speed ram, like 2400 or 2133 at 1.65v.

well it will be pretty easy to get my overclock back because as I said it was just a multiplier. I just have to turn off all my power control things like CnQ and C1E, etc. I just was wondering if Ill have to adjust my voltage for my processor differently or not. As in the CPU will not have the same stability at my present voltage with different RAM...i don't know how much influence RAM has on CPU stability in regards to CPU Voltage.

Also I should note that the new ram has the same timings as my current RAM of 9-9-9-24. It's just 1600Mhz as opposed to my current 1333Mhz. The ONLY reason why I did this was to make less strain on the system and generate a little less heat, As I can feel the air coming from my top vent fan above the ram is warm.

Swifty_moragan - Are you sure I'll need to reset CMOS? A feature of this ASUS Mobo is the MemOK! Button supposedly resets all memory controllers as timings to the default settings of the new ram without having to reset CMOS.

If I did just waste my money I don't have a problem turning around and reselling this ram. I got it for a steal at 55 for the 8gb kit. But I've heard that Corsair Vengeance is a really good choice of RAM.
