Short and Sweet, I'm looking to build a $1000 max CPU. Here's my preferences;

-ATX Mid Tower.
-Prefer Intel CPU.
-Enjoy casual gaming, so needs to be able to handle newer games.

Really looking forward to people's opinions.

Thanks

Nice Build.I suggest you to get GTX 770 and drop SSD. then it will be fantastic.
get 4th gen Intel CPUs there are better than 3rd Gen Intel CPUs.

With this build you can every game at Ultra in 1080p.
It has new Intel Haswell Refresh CPU, they produce vey low temp even in full load, because Intel is using different materials is new Haswell Refresh CPUs.
You can just use CPU cooler which comes with CPU, since your not overclocking.
R9 290 is better than GTX 770, since R9 290 has Mantle API you will get better fps with r9 290.

(or)

If you just need Ideal Gaming PC at 1080p.
then go with this.

You can play most of games in Ultra. But some games you will play at high sittings at 1080p.
