I just bought a new r9 270x 2b GPU. plug in my HDMI and the system boots up perfectly however, when i check on my display settings it was setup to the default and when i check on control panel it shows another display not detected.

I can see available display however i cant make change with the resolution and make my GPU as my main display.

can anyone help me on how to resolve the issue and make my GPU as my main display? Thank you.

Are both of the displays plugged into the GPU? They have to be in order for this to work.

I only have 1 monitor connected via HDMI to my GPU. the control panel Display shows "Available Display output on: AMD Radeon r9 200 Series" However Resolution is grayed out and i cant make it as my primary display.

On my device manager i already have GPU on Display Adapters.

on my dxdiag i have

device:
name: amd radeon r9 200 series
current display mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit)(60Hz)
Monitor: generic PnP Monitor

Drivers Version: 14.100.0.0

Try changing the resolution in CCC (catalyst control center).

I cant find it on CCC on changing resolution.

I can only see my monitor and i cant find my GPU still at CCC.

Can you please rephrase the problem? If everything is working fine then why would you need to change the resolution?

Problem: when i click on control panel screen resolution it shows "another display not detected". on Display it shows "Available display output on: AMD Radeon r9 200 series" Resolution is grayed out so i cant select my GPU for my resolution.

things done: Bios change to PEG , updated my CCC to V14 , check device manager "Graphics card showing"

Your current display mode is "1920 x 1080 (32 bit)(60Hz)", why would you need to change it?

In any case, you can try running this to uninstall your current drivers completely. Then download the newest ones from AMD and see if it works. If that doesn't help, try using older drivers.

If it still won't work, try taking out your GPU and putting it back in.

I think it already is your primary display adapter. Try running games on it to see if that's true. BTW, what's the rest of your system?

As long as your monitor is plugged into your GPU and your monitor is displaying then it is your primary. Primary display refers to your monitors.

Also 1920x1080 is probably your native resolution and your shouldn't change that.
