Hi, 3 days ago i buy new AMD fx 8320, but after change my computer start to hangs/reset some times, so I installed prime95 and HWmonitor for testing for testing.

When I launch prime95 - some thread stop working with error (expected less than .4, got .5)

The first thing I've done - by reading the asrock CPU support list site ( http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/870 Extreme3 R2.0/?cat=CPU ) "* For cooling the CPU and its surrounding components, please install a CPU cooler with a top-down blowing design."

is install additional FAN for cooling the motherboard:

And problem still exists, next thing I've done is go to bios and disabled APM - after that prime95 works well - max temp is 56 Celsius on full load

But after disabling APM - i have noticed that core are on 3.5GHz - with no turbo - I found in AMD OVERDRIVE that I can turn it back - but after turning it on computer start hangs again and prime95 again stop with errors.

My question is what can i else do - to get it work with turbo? or is my motherboard fail and i should repleace it? Or CPU is damaged and i should take it back on guaranty?

rest of my specs:
cooling - ZALMAN CNPS 10X PERFORMA
PSU 580W XILENCE
HIS RADEON 7870
2x 4GB DDR3 1600 Goodram Play
ssd kingston hyperx 120GB
hdd samsung 1TB
LG DVD-RW

Hello man

The issue with APM on the 8 core processors is that it can cause power ripples. Keep it off. The processor only turbos when it hits 100% usage for an extended time period. A 15 second test won't cut it. Use CPU Z to monitor the multiplier and speed.

thx for reply

It's not that, it was good for some time - after some play it hangs again - i reboot PC and start prime95 again and it drops errors again - after set it on 4 threads - some got errors and pc hangs after 5s running test

hwmonitor also show some high temp on AUXTIN - it jumps from 50 - 128 celsius

turbo isn't working - it's enabled in bios - only APM is disabled - if i run some test on 2 cores - cpu-z show that all 8 are on 3.5GHz - some time some roce drops to 2.9GHz

before I run athlon X3 - with unlocked four cores and OC on 3.24Ghz on this MB - it run with no errors with 45 celcius under load.

edit:
under h load on prime 8 threads AUXTIN drops to 24 celscius - i don't get it why

edit: another wonder - when i run prime on 8 threads/core - no errors - AUXTIN temp are low - http://obcy.net/ht/hwcpuz.png
if i set 2 threads temp raise to 70 and more celsius and error appears

the cpu stays on 3.5GHz - no turbo
