300mbs wireless limits

I have a wireless router which is limited to 300MBs. With this in mind, is there any point to buy a 450mbs wireless card or should I get a 300mbs usb adaptor

Its all going to come down to is the difference in cost going to ever pay off for you. To actually use more than 300 you would have to upgrade your router. So in the future if you upgrade the router and wanted to use the 450 you would have to upgrade your card also. So you would increase you expense in the future if you actually wanted to use 450.

Now all this likely does not make a real lot of difference. If all you do is surf the internet a 300m and 450m device will still be limited to say 50m you buy from your ISP. The only place you might see a difference is if you were transferring filter between devices inside your house.
Even then the actual throughput between a 300 and 450 is not even close to the 150 extra. Very hard...

so i should just get the 300mbs usb adaptor? mind this is for a new PC im building.

Even then the actual throughput between a 300 and 450 is not even close to the 150 extra. Very hard to say what you will get since it greatly depends how much interference you currently have. You get much more of the band width going from 150 to say 300 than from 300 to 450. The test sites that have looked at this estimate you might get about 25-50m of that in good situations.

every case its different though. what you really need is consistent signal and if you are between to many walls or really far away from the router you may have signal but too mutch flactuation! in that case you will need an repeater additonally. you must find the best spot fist, even half feet distance could make a difference!
