I was wondering because I always get high fps, but my games lagg ay 60fps. Could it be a faulty cpu. Its not my motherboard for sure.

AMD FX-8150 3.6GHz 8-Core Processor
Stock Cooler (I have a 212 hyper evo sitting in box waiting for installing)
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Asus GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card
Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)
Acer G236HLBbd 60Hz 23.0" Monitor
Turtle Beach EARFORCEX12

Mobo - lowest I saw was 35
highest I ever saw was 43

NOTE THIS IS ALL IN CELCIUS

GPU - lowest I saw was 25
highest I saw was 50

CPU - lowest I saw was 32
highest I saw was 72

I just want to know how to fix this bottlenecking issue.

People say it isnt the motherboard, its the cpu temps, but I heard my motherboard is an overheater and a bottlenecker. Note also that i use 2 different types of ram.

Minecraft - lowest 50fps (cause of tons o tnt)
highest - 300fps (on my custom settings)
semi highest - 60 (on max even when recording)

Hello man

72C is above the max temp for the FX chips. You need better cooling.

Whats throttling? Do I need a new motherboard, because one dude said that my motherboard is an overheater. What motherboard should I get?

My standard motherboard suggestion for an 8 core AMD is the ASUS M5A99FX R2.0. Middle of the road, well built, allows decent overclocking if desired. Just a good all round board for the money, and a safer option for the 8 core/125w cpus than a 970 chipset board.

I do suggest not making it too hard on yourself though. If you feel like it, and know what you are doing, why don't you try installing that 212 evo first? If you are unsure of the best way to do it, just ask on here. If you do know what you are doing, my apologies. I have seen so many of these issues where the cooler was not installed correctly, or too much thermal paste was used, etc, and caused similar issues. Just a thought since this would be easier than getting a new mobo, reinstalling everything, etc.

Though yes, I have heard the board you have is an overheater, depending on the revision. What revision is it?

I installed my new cpu cooler. My temps went way down. Its super duper quiet, and its stayin around 30-40c when gaming. and 20-30c when idle.
