Have a new Lenovo PC with i3-4130 processor and Intel HD Graphics 4400. Display is Samsung TV/Monitor T23A350. Originally hooked them up with VGA cable and audio cable. Computer has VGA and HDMI output; TV has both. Just purchased HDMI cable and connected HDMI to HDMI. The resolution is worse - scaling is bad; text is somewhat pixelated. Downloaded updated INTEL driver with no improvement. Reduced scaling settings on the 4400 to get everything to fit on the screen.
Any suggestions? I'm ready to toss the HDMI cable and go back to VGA, which looked better.
Thanks in advance .

Some TVs don't handshake well with PCs. Have you tried seeing if your TV has PC drivers. And can you manually increase the resoloution higher?

It's the monitor. I had an LG 22" TV / Monitor and the picture quality is terrible on HDMI from my PC. It looks like that monitor is about 2011? Mine was the same model year. I think newer ones are much better on HDMI but models from that era are just pants. Better sticking with DVI if you can, that's what I'm using now and never looked back.

I just found an answer in this thread:

Had to go into the controls of the Samsung (press Source) and change the name of the device to PC from their list of possible names. It's perfect now. Definitely NOT clear from the Samsung manual.

Thanks for updating your post, that's interesting information. Unfortunately for my LG after much googling there is no such fix!
