I've searched this problem in different forums and had no luck. Hopefully I can get help this time.
I recently re installed windows 7,64 bit on my asus notebook and since then, one of my flash memory devices is not shown in computer whenever I plug it in.
It is detected and the driver is installed (checked device manager)
The memory device works fine on other computers and other flash memories work fine with my notebook!
It's shown in disk management.(disk 1)
I've tried uninstalling the driver, restart system and connect the usb again. It is installed successfully and again won't show up in computer.

So... this flash appears on other PC's?

If not, it is a dead stick, and I recommend that you buy another one. Good 4 gig sticks cost... what, less than $4 right?

Yes it appears on all other PCs I checked ( friends, library,Home PC) It used to work on my notebook too! Before I re installed windows on it.I have some important info on it.Besides I don't want my notebook to unfriend my flash memories whenever It's in a bad mood  ( specially this one! It's kinda expensive!)

Dang... I have nothing to say...

Here's a plan:
Step 0: backup all data on the stick to another PC
Step1: Check drivers. (USB drivers? for the actual ports, not the stick. do those exist?)
Step2: run a diagnostic test on the stick from another PC

Where should I expect to find usb drivers for ports? (I actually believe they exist since other sticks works fine with all the ports)
Diagnostic test?? How?

I don't know where to find drivers. I guess you can scour ASUS's product suppport page, and see if there are any files. Did your PC come with 7 or 8? Cause if it came with 8, drivers for 7 may not exist, as the product was never meant to be 7 compatible. (I doubt that's the case though...)

As for diagnostic tests (on another PC of course), I suggest right clicking the drive, selecting tools, and running the error check. See if it catches anything. You could then run a S.M.A.R.T test, but that requires a third party program. I do not know what is the best. Google '(best) S.M.A.R.T scanner" and research yourself.
