Hi, I'm looking into buying a CPU cooler for my setup.

I would like to ask if the heatsink of the Hyper 212 Evo will fit in my case since I have a high profile RAM.

My specs:

Asus Rampage III Formula

Intel i7-950

Kingston HyperX 6GB @1800Mhz High Profile Memory(http://img12.360buyimg.com/n1/1023/03b93b32-78d8-4c37-a...)

PSU CM Silent Pro 1000W

Case CM Storm Scout

Thank you in advance! :)

If you have six memory slots and triple channel yes you can do that. The downside is that you will not be in a position to populate all six slots at a later date. (The motherboard link you posted does not work).

Try raising the fan clip and see how it looks. In my case it was not acceptable to me...

I see. I found this image on the net. The RAM is G Skill.

I can always move the RAM to the 2nd, 4th and 6th slots, right?

I watched the video and that was what I tried at first. I didn't like the raised fan . That's why I ground off 1 mm x 10 mm from the base of the fan.

However, raising the fan is a solution.

I'm thinking of raising the fan a bit, would there be any major impact in performance doing so? I presume not.

Regarding the fan configuration. On my case I have one 120mm fan pulling air from the front of the case (can install a second one pulling air too), one 140mm on the top pulling air too and one 120mm pushing air at the back. There is room to install two 120mm fans in the side window of the case too, probably pushing air outside the case.

How should I use the cooler's fans? I can buy a second one for it. Would a push-pull configuration be good?

Raising the fan on the EVO will affect the aesthetics but not the performance that much.

Push-pull fans will definitely help the cooling. Do it if you can.

After searching a bit more around I found some interesting photos regarding the heatsink and the RAM clearance.

This guy has the same mobo with me and uses a fan for his RAM. I know that his cooler isn't the 212, but it's a good guess of how things fit on the mobo.

This photo shows the 212 on an ASUS Maximus IV Gene. The RAM manages to fit after all.

These are a some photos of the Maximus IV Gene and Rampage III Formula.

I think the fan could fit with a bit of stretch, if not are there any slim fans that I could use?

Thank you guys for the replies.

If in the future I would like to install more RAM, could I use 5 of the 6 dimm slots? Could my PC work properly? If not, I can install a low-profile ram in the 1/3/5 slots and keep the high profile in the 2/4/6 slots, right?

I found some other coolers too. The Hyper 412S and Hyper 412 Slim.

Hyper 212 Evo = 29€
Hyper 412S= 34€
Hyper 412 Slim= 45€

I believe the 412 Slim is the better solution since it comes with 2 slim fan. Considering I want to add a second fan on the 212 Evo, the price would go up to 35-40€ for the cooler + 2nd fan. What do you think?
