I just recently moved from desktop to laptop, I've always used maximum performance and forgot about it, but now im curious is there inherently any hidden difference between balanced and mp plans?
I've read people with claims that maximum performance effects sound quality on playback, but im cynical about it?
Anyone have any knowledge to share on the subject?

it can have a small difference on it depending on your hardware config. I know my wifi card will lower its connection speed if I use the max power savings profile. most of it effects just how long your computer is idle before computer goes to sleep or shuts down different items. as effecting sound quality not that I know of as usually sound cards are powered on or off they usually don't have several power states just the two. now on the other hand your graphics card and cpu can have differences that are noticeable.
