will the broadwell upgrade be worth it

If it's your first PC, yeah, go for the latest, if you can wait, otherwise buy the latest, which is Haswell. However, if you already had a Haswell-based PC, I would say no, the upgrade to Broadwell is not worth it. Not for a 10% performance improvement.
