Hiya,

The GPU is the last thing I need in my build however I'm a bit stuck on what to get. I have around $330 AUD but want the best performance for my buck (hopefully cheap haha).

From what I see, benchmarks for most FPS are higher on the ASUS 270X Direct CU 2GB?

I'm new to all this so if someone could help me out and explain what is better for what. I'm going to be casual gaming and surfing the web really that's all.

Thanks :)

You can check out the 280 benchmark on account of it including the 270x and the 280x.

Long story short, you can max out many games at 1080p and get playable frame rates using the 270x. Keep in mind, the 270 is the same as the 270x, aside from lower clock speeds. If you don't want to OC, get a 270x, otherwise, (of if you get a factory OC) get the 270.

I don't think I'll OC as my CPU isn't OCable either. I don't plan to upgrade for a while so want something that will last me a while.

Wouldn't it be worth it if I just get the r9 270x and OC that rather than getting the 280x? Appreciate the help

The 280X is around $150 AUD more than the 270X, depending on model / sales at the time. For myself, I'd look into the Gigabyte Windforce cards, but unfortunately, they are out of your price bracket.

There is, however, an XFX 280X for $329 AUD. It's clocked 150MHz lower than the Gigabyte card, but it's still a 280X card.

I didn't check if things are in stock, by the way. That will change recommendations, obviously.

If I had the money, I'd be looking at a Titan or some shit haha. Unfortunately I'm just wanting opinions on the two I listed above in OP.

It's in budget, but I'm looking to save as much money as I can, without sacrificing MUCH performance.
